Such a great time at our 2023 Kidpreneur Summer Classes!

Hello and welcome back to our blog where we post exciting updates about our kids related programmes.

On Monday the 29th of July, we started our Leadership & Entrepreneurship summer classes for 2023 with about 30 students in attendance.

As usual, the kids learned the meaning of the word 'Entrepreneur' and the mindset of an Entrepreneur using our all popular acronym E.N.T.R.E.P.R.E.N.E.U.R. We also delved into some leadership tips by analysing and learning from the ants - how they have the following skills such as:

  • Self Management Skills
  • Time Management Skills
  • Organisational Skills
  • Social Skills
  • Stress Management Skills

On Tuesday, the kids were taught how to find a business idea for the summer and were put into randomized groups to come up with a business idea together. This was after watching videos of some other successful kidpreneurs and learning from their business stories.

On Wednesday the kids learned about the principle of doing market research to know the wants and needs of potential customers before deciding what their business model and product would be. They learned about some marketing skills needed to get their business/product known such as Websites, flyers and posters for advertising their products/services.

Below are some posters and logos created by a few of them...

Thursday rolled around and it was only one more day until the kids would have to pitch their own business idea to a guest judge and potentially win a £100 seed funding to help start their business idea/summer project. The kids watched videos of successful kidpreneurs making their pitches where they had to confidently talk about their product and their journeys. This was so that the kids could learn pitching skills and build their confidence for the session on Friday.

Friday, the final day of the programme arrived, and it was a nerve-racking day for some of the kids but also an exciting one because someone/a group was going to win the £100 seed funding to help with their business/summer project.

The following companies (comprising of 4 co-founders) were formed with representatives from each group pitching to our guest judge.

Our guest judge - the Student Enterprise Manager at the University of Surrey judged/assessed the kids on their pitches and gave them constructive feedback.

The Kids came up with brilliant ideas and all the pitches were excellently delivered. Virgin's Beauty company won the best pitch which properly highlighted the Problem, Solution, Benefits, Facts & Data as well as a call to action to buy their skin care product.

We had an award ceremony and gave the dates for our next summer session as the 29th of July to 2nd of August 2024.

We hope you save the dates!

Till we come your way again with more exciting updates and programmes for the kids...Enjoy the rest of the summer!
